At Team OTO, we adhere to the principle of "Crawl, Walk, Run."

Shooting skills are cumulative; shooting techniques and tactics are an amalgamation of multiple individual skills.   Our Course sequencing, and our skill building within each Course, are designed using that paradigm.

Here are some of our recurring training Courses, which we offer on both a public and private basis:

• NY CCW ($395)

  • 16 hours of classroom instruction + 2 hours of range time and live fire qualification

  • Students successfully completing the Course will receive a Certificate of Completion for submission with their Concealed Carry License application

  • Course includes guidance regarding the application process; there is no need to spend hundreds of dollars for someone to "assist" you with your application!

• "Alpha Pistol” - 3 hours ($150)

  • For both beginners and more experienced "self-taught" shooters

  • This Course is the foundation for all training and covers firearm safety and operations and shooting fundamentals (stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, and proper trigger manipulation)

  • Students successfully completing the Course will receive an NRA "Basics of Pistol shooting" Certificate

  • We highly recommended that all new shooters who complete the NY CCW Class take at least this beginner-level training!

  • Prerequisites:  Completion of the "NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting" on-line module (found here: NRA Basic Pistol)

• "Bravo Pistol" - 3 hours ($250) [Intro to Pistol Tactics]

  • For students who already understand and abide by all rules of safe firearms handling and have demonstrated a basic level of proficiency with a handgun

  • Course covers safe holster draw and re-holstering techniques, tactical reload techniques, "emergency" slide lock reload techniques, and clearing common malfunctions

  • Prerequisites:  Alpha Pistol (or an NRA "Basics of Pistol Shooting" Certificate from another NRA Instructor)

• "Charlie Pistol" - 3 hours ($250) [Intermediate Pistol Tactics]

  • For students who already understand and abide by all rules of safe firearms handling and have demonstrated an intermediate level of proficiency with a handgun

  • Course covers advanced trigger control techniques, ready positions, shooting while moving, and engaging multiple threats

  • Prerequisites:  Alpha Pistol and Bravo Pistol, or equivalents from other Academies and Instructors approved in advance

• "Delta Pistol" - 3 hours ($250) [Advanced Pistol Tactics]

  • For students who already understand and abide by all rules of safe firearms handling and have demonstrated an advanced level of proficiency with a handgun

  • Course covers one-handed shooting, drawing from concealment (i.e., under a cover garment), use of cover, and movement and cover drills

  • Prerequisites:  Alpha Pistol, Bravo Pistol, and Charlie Pistol, or equivalents from other Academies and Instructors approved in advance

• "Echo Pistol" - 3 Hours ($250) [Alternative Shooting Positions]

  • For students who already understand and abide by all rules of safe firearms handling and have demonstrated an advanced level of proficiency with a handgun

  • Course covers different techniques for shooting from kneeling, prone, supine, and other positions

  • Prerequisites:  Alpha Pistol, Bravo Pistol, Charlie Pistol, and Delta Pistol, or equivalents from other Academies and Instructors approved in advance

• "Foxtrot Pistol" - 3 Hours ($250) [One-Handed Pistol Manipulations]

  • For students who already understand and abide by all rules of safe firearms handling and have demonstrated an advanced level of proficiency with a handgun

  • Course covers one-handed shooting, drawing, reloading, malfunction clearing, and re-holstering, with both the dominant hand only and the support hand only

  • Prerequisites:  Alpha Pistol, Bravo Pistol, Charlie Pistol, Delta Pistol, and Echo Pistol, or equivalents from other Academies and Instructors approved in advance

• "Alpha Rifle" - Classroom session + 3 hours range time ($250)

  • Beginner level Course covering firearm safety and operations and shooting fundamentals (stance, grip, shooting technique, ready positions, shooting positions, emergency reloads, and engaging multiple targets)

  • Students successfully completing the Course will receive an NRA "Introduction to Rifle Fundamentals" Certificate

• "Bravo Rifle" - 3 hours ($250)

  • For students who already understand and abide by all rules of safe firearms handling and have demonstrated a basic level of proficiency with a rifle

  • Intermediate level Course covering advanced ready positions, additional shooting positions, tactical reloads, malfunction clearing, use of cover, and shooting while moving

  • Students successfully completing the Course will receive a Team OTO "Bravo Rifle - Introduction to Rifle Tactics" Certificate

  • Prerequisites:  Alpha Rifle

• "Alpha Shotgun" - Classroom session + 3 hours range time ($250)

  • Beginner level Course covering firearm safety and operations and shooting fundamentals (loading and unloading, stance, grip, shooting technique, ready positions, shooting positions, and engaging multiple targets)

  • Students successfully completing the class will receive a Team OTO "Introduction to Shotgun Fundamentals" Certificate

    • Prerequisites:  Alpha Pistol and Bravo Pistol

  • Low Light Operations - Pistol

    • Course covers both handheld and weapon-mounted lights

    • Prerequisites: Alpha Pistol, Bravo Pistol, Charlie Pistol, and Delta Pistol​

  • ​Low Light Operations - Rifle

    • Prerequisites: Alpha Rifle and Bravo Rifle​

  • ​Close Quarters Combat - Pistol

    • Course covers engaging threats that are up close and personal 

    • Prerequisites: Alpha Pistol, Bravo Pistol, and Charlie Pistol​

  • ​Room Entries and Room Clearing - Pistol

    • Course covers deliberate and dynamic entry techniques and corner-fed and center-fed rooms 

    • Prerequisites: Alpha Pistol, Bravo Pistol, Charlie Pistol, and Delta Pistol

  • ​Room Entries and Room Clearing - Rifle

    • Course covers deliberate and dynamic entry techniques and corner-fed and center-fed rooms

    • Prerequisites: Alpha Rifle and Bravo Rifle

  • ​"Drill night"​ - Pistol

    • Bill Drill, Devil Drill, El Presidente, Mozambique, Blaze X, Dot Torture, and More!

    • Drills will be timed and conducted competition style

    • Prerequisites: Alpha Pistol, Bravo Pistol, and Charlie Pistol

• Shorinjiryu Karate

  • Traditional Japanese Karate, incorporating elements of Aikido and Jiu Jitsu

  • Ongoing public class for all levels, from new White Belts to Black Belts

  • Class meets weekly on Monday and Wednesday evenings

  • White Belt open enrollment periods throughout the year

In addition to our recurring Courses, we can provide the same Courses on a small-group Basis (Price TBD) and customize private training sessions to your needs.
